Experience a Holiday Tradition at Lights on the Bay
December 5, 2020
For 25 years, the Lights on the Bay has been making spirits bright in Annapolis. The 2 mile path along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay is illuminated by sparkling holiday scenes and some local snapshots of life in Annapolis. The event benefits the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, so know that you’re helping to take care of local animals this holiday season while you delight in a coastal winter wonderland.
The light show is held at Sandy Point State Park, off of Route 50 on the stunning shores of the Chesapeake Bay. There are about 70 glittering displays to see in this year’s installment of the holiday tradition. Look for one in particular that features a hat toss by US Naval Academy midshipmen—it’s an impressive fan favorite this year! The fun continues with an interactive scavenger hunt for little ones each night. They’ll search for various items throughout the event, answer questions, and even win a prize.
Catch it any night from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. before it closes on January 2, even holidays! Expect to pay $20 per car and be sure to request the 3D glasses for an extra $5 to take your experience up a notch. Check local papers and you might even find a coupon!
Support a good cause while you enjoy the sparkles of the season. It’s all about a 30-minute drive from Creekstone Village!
