Secure Your Tickets for the Holiday Candlelight Stroll of Annapolis
December 9, 2019
Taking place select Friday and Saturday evenings in December, the Holiday Candlelight Stroll leads visitors through the historic streets of Annapolis in its holiday decorations and seasonal ambiance. Glowing lanterns guide visitors around Maryland’s historic State Capital, past colonial and Victoria mansions, quaint boutiques, and the historic Hammond Harwood House, built in 1774. The decorated garden club around the house is themed differently each year, ending the tour at the home’s seasonal gift shop. This year’s theme is an 1820s Dutch American Christmas with the Loockerman Family. The house looks back on when the Loockerman family inhabited the house, as the father, Richard, came from Dutch ancestry with Dutch beliefs, foods, and stories. The tour also tells of the importance of evergreens, yule logs, and the significance of the song “sing a song of sixpence, pocket full of rye…”
The seasonal stroll is $21 for adults, $12 for children 3-11, and free for those 2 and under. The tour is held 7-8:30 p.m. and departs from the information booth at the city dock, 1 Dock Street.
