Soak Up the Sunshine and Fresh Air at Downs Park
April 21, 2020
Finally! It’s warm outside, and time to take advantage of being so close to the Chesapeake Bay. This is what you’ve been waiting for all winter long. The next time you want to get a breath of fresh air and take in the beauty of the water, head to Downs Park. The area is a local favorite for its fishing piers and playground, in addition to its well-maintained pavilions for summertime gatherings. And although now is not the time to host a big get-together, you can still walk the perimeter of the Bay, play HORSE on the basketball course, or head out for a solo Kayak lap on the water. The Park also features five miles of paved and natural trails to hike, bike, or stroll.
Chances are you and the kids have some extra time on your hands, so you might as well get out and enjoy nature at Downs Park. Visit the website for a park map, and to read about the admission times and fees.
